Unblank Those Pages

A Bi-Weekly, Generative Writing Circle with Kathy Curto

Join Key to the Castle Workshop writing instructor Kathy Curto for a bi-weekly, generative writing circle.

How many times have you started that novel, memoir or essay while you are doing the dishes, commuting to and from work or on your daily walk? Sure, we write when we are not really writing. But eventually words need to find a home on those pages for traction to build.

These bi-weekly regular sessions can be the hours that help us keep the promises we sometimes make to our writing selves: I will make time to write!

Join Key to the Castle Workshop writing instructor Kathy Curto for a bi-weekly, generative writing circle.

PLAN:

  1. Begin with warm up: Instructor offers a short reading from literature, an appetizer, if you will.

  2. Then, several prompts provided and off students go to write for 30 minutes, give or take.

  3. Instructor will be available to offer support or assist if questions come up.

  4. Next up, a short block of time to stretch, chat, and share (only if you want) then back to the page for another round.

  5. There will be no extensive feedback, just generating, sharing and listening plus a recap after each class which will include links to sources and home prompts, if desired.
